Authentication Websites

Movie Poster Authenticating – is a site dedicated to documenting modern and vintage movie posters that have been reproduced, reprinted or otherwise “bootlegged”. Buying a bootleg, counterfeit, or reprinted movie poster, when you are expecting the real theater used item, is what we are here to help you avoid. NOTE: Unfortunately, the Movie Poster Authenticating has been taken offline and is no longer available.

Movie Poster Collectors Guide – Collectors want “true original” movie posters, i.e. posters that were legally authorised by the studio, printed when the movie is released, and actually distributed or intended for distribution. However, movie posters, unlike many other collectibles (e.g. comic books), generally are not sold to or intended to reach the public.

CineMasterpieces – An original movie poster can be defined as; A poster that was issued for a movie by the National Screen Service (NSS), or by a movie studio, or by another company authorised by the studio for display in an actual movie theatre at the time of the films original release. Advertising posters used outside a theater (wilding, bus shelter, subway, and billboard) during an original release are also considered original movie posters.
