Gangster No 1 (pronounced Gangster Number One) is a 2000 film directed by Paul McGuigan. It was co-produced by Norma Heyman and Jonathan Cavendish. The screenplay was co-written Johnny Ferguson, Louis Mellis and David Scinto. The story is based on play of Gangster No 1, by Louis Mellis - who also wrote Sexy Beast - and David Scinto. Gangster No. 1 stars Malcolm McDowell, Paul Bettany, David Thewlis and Saffron Burrows. American Psycho is a 2000 film directed by Mary Harron. She co-wrote the screenplay with Guinevere Turner. The film was produced by Edward R. Pressman, Chris Hanley, Christian Halsey and Solomon. It is based on the 1991 novel, American Psycho written by Bret Easton Ellis and stars Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Chloë Sevigny, Samantha Mathis, Cara Seymour, Justin Theroux, and Reese Witherspoon. The producer Edward R. Pressman brought the rights to the film in 1992. Originally David Cronenberg was lined up to direct the film but these discussions fell through.
